Review:
Even in the beginning, this is the only movie that made me calm but 5 minutes after he had seen. I literally couldnt shut my mouth, and there was no sound coming from it. Oldboy had such an effect on me that words are not enough to describe this effect. So this movie is definitely in my top 3 films of all time. It belongs there because it has a lot of ingredients that many films seem to lack the divine plot. Although the script works and the world, the story is really the icing on cake.When is setting Park Chan-Wook is unique (at least for western standards) to the recording mode. The colors are so vibrant and it seems as if he wanted every shot to be a work of art. One piece of advice: If you like to shoot in Oldboy, see Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, Part Three, parks revenge trilogy. Its even better than the camera work in Oldboy. Do not, however, expect a story like Oldboys, it would be very disappointed.When comes to games and music, this film is also one of the best films of all time. Music sticks in your head, and every time I put it in my DVD-Oldboy and subject comes up, I'm just flooded with good memories (although plot is not only reason that they are satisfied). The characters are very well presented with exceptional rates. Especially Choi Min-Sik Yu Ji-Tae made a very convincing performance. I thank this film respects as it should be, because it has a place in the top 250 if it was me it would be on a scale even higher. I dont understand why movies like The Usual Suspects or Memento, which are fantastic pieces of film, and that certainly deserves a place in the top 250 in the top 250 higher than Oldboy. They have the same thing, a wonderful plot. But these plots one can not stand in the shade, or even comes close to the plot of Oldboy. The only reason is that these films are better known in the west and production company. If we all live in Asia, Oldboy would certainly be in the Top 20 of all time. My advice to people who still Harbor watch this movie: Go see it! It is definitely worth a visit. If you have a bad stomach, pull yourself together and still watch. Dont be so deep as a lot of people here usually. Look past the violence and see what I said before: the world running, cinema, music, and last but certainly not least plot. When you open yourself up you'll find a whole new world of film. Enjoy!
